My principle educational training was in graphics
(A+student, Cincinnati Art Academy) with courses in advertising at the University Of
Cincinnati.
For 18 years I worked at Armco in Middletown, Ohio.
My title there was - Advertising Group Supervisor. I was responsible for managing
promotional activities for Armco's oilfield equipment group, The National Supply
Company. National is the largest manufacturer of oilfield equipment in the
world. I spent a great deal of time shuttling back and forth to Houston, Los
Angeles, and even Scotland.
At the height of oilfield activity in 1981, I was
responsible for a marketing communications budget of three million dollars involving more
than 200 specific projects. When Armco's fortunes slumped twelve years ago, my
wife and I started our own, full-service advertising agency. Armco's National Supply
Company in Houston stayed with us and still remains an extremely loyal client.
Currently we are blessed with enthusiastic acceptance and
have generated glowing recommendations from clients in the Cincinnati-Dayton area.
I consider myself to be a person of diverse talents,
having won awards for writing, art work, photography, and film making.

In my leisure time I am pretty much at the mercy of my
Social Director - Janet.
My vegetable garden is legendary in our neighborhood.
(Ask me about blue potatoes.)
Janet and I have enjoyed some adventuresome travels,
hiking in remote Alaskan regions. (Ask about that and you could be in for a long
session of viewing photos and videos.)
Our travels will soon be less exotic but more rewarding.
With a new grandchild, we will be traveling to Boston to visit her frequently.

Janet's main preoccupation these days is her first
grandchild, Madeline Elisabeth Brown, born Feb. 2nd. She will be frequenting the
Boston area as much as possible in the months to come. One of Janet's favorite
activities is her twice-weekly aquacize group. It is much more than exercise, it's a
unique fellowship group. Janet has a passion for planting flowers in every available
space (and in some spots that aren't so available). She has also just completed an
extensive video chronology of her own children's growing years.

Despite my exciting career, I have no trouble pin-pointing
my most creative and rewarding endeavor. It is my 30-year stint as a Sunday School
teacher at Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton.
Working on the church's evangelism committee is by far my
greatest and most frustrating marketing communications challenge.
First Peter 3:15 says . . .
In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone
who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
Here's my personal answer:
"Jesus is a present, real, and smiling friend. Because of Jesus my
life is focused, directed, and ordered - yet exciting and free!
I find daily delight, eternal inspiration, and confident assurance in God's Word and in
prayer.
The Bible provides a completely true and authoritative guide.
The Bible illuminates my daily life and the world around me.
I am blessed with so much good and I am blessed despite so much evil.
God continues to be good, gracious, and giving to me despite my continuing
weak response to Him. I live in His kingdom now.
Eternity is there for me, through Jesus. Death doesn't worry me.
. . . That is the reason for my HOPE!
